The 1947-S Washington Quarter had the third lowest mintage from the Washington Quarters produced between 1941 and 1964. The 1947-S had a total mintage of just over 5.5 million from the San Francisco Mint. Due to the low mintage of this coin, collectors were quick to be saved in uncirculated rolls. The Washington Quarter was designed by John Flanagan to commemorate the 200th anniversary of George Washington’s birthday.
