The 1943 Washington Quarter is the scarcest of all of the major double died versions that exist within the entire Washington Quarter series. The Double Die Obverse can easily be seen where the words “In God We Trust” and “Liberty” appear on the coin. It’s possible that due to the scarcity of this Double Die version, the original version in Mint State grades is of almost equal value. One variety of the coin shows the Double Die more heavily and is more valuable than versions that are less obvious.
