1943-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar

1943-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar

The 1943-D Walking Liberty half dollar, because it came from the Denver mint, has one of the lower issues of the Walking Liberty coins. It is a lovely and rather easy-to-collect coin. The half dollar design was created by Adolph Weinman. He was a sculptor that won the commission to design this coin and the dime in a competition held by the Commission on Fine Arts. This design, however, was not the initial design for the coin. Like many other coins coming from the Denver mint, the 1943-D Walking Liberty retains a beautiful white and frosty luster. Strike is generally outstanding.

1943-D Walking Liberty Silver Half Dollar Value, Scarcity, and Key Dates

The 1943-D Walking Liberty silver half dollar value can be as low as $9 for a low-grade circulated coin and go as high as $48 for a higher-grade uncirculated condition coin. As far as rarity goes, it is about as rare as the 1941-D, 1942-D, 1944-D, and 1945-D Walking Liberty half dollars. Only 14% of the Walking Liberty coins issued in 1943 came from the Denver mint. The 1943-D Walking Liberty half dollar value is affected by the large number of uncirculated rolls coins saved when the coin first came out. Even though this coin is relatively easy to find, the 1943-D Walking Liberty half dollar value as a collectible coin is still just a bit more than the value of the silver in the coin. Walking Liberty half dollar key dates do not the 1943-D coin.
