1940 Washington Quarter

1940 Washington Quarter

The 1940 Washington Quarter had a large mintage of over 35 million from the Philadelphia Mint. The coin was created to commemorate first United States President George Washington’s 200th anniversary of his birthday. The coin features a portrait of Benjamin Franklin on the obverse, and an American Bald Eagle with wings spread wide on the reverse. The 1940 Washington Quarter is fairly common in Gem condition, but can command a higher price than some of the other coins in the Washington Quarter series.
