1937-D Washington Quarter
The 1937-D Washington Quarter had a total mintage of just over 7 million coins from the Denver Mint. After the 1939-D Washington Quarter, the 1937-D is one of the most common Denver Mint Washington Quarters of the 1930s. At one point in history, the prices for this coin were fairly modest, but in the 1970s, dealers pushed the price higher after recognizing that the coin was more rare in Gem condition, although still fairly common.
History of the 1937-D Washington Quarter
The 1937-D Washington Quarter was designed by John Flanagan to commemorate the 200th anniversary of first president George Washington’s birthday. The design includes a portrait of George Washington on the obverse of the coin, and an American Bald Eagle with wings spread wide standing over a bundle of arrows and olive branches on the reverse. The majority of the 1937-D silver Washington Quarter coins in Mint State are well-struck and have a nice white and frosty luster. Cherrypicking is advised to find beautiful Gems on this date, and it is definitely possible to find them.
1937-D Washington Quarter Value
