Take your collection back to the Wild West with this 1884-CC Morgan Silver Dollar. Carson City Morgan Dollars are often considered the most popular of all Silver Dollars. They were minted in very small numbers starting in 1878, and the Carson City Mint stopped producing coins in 1893 and has never produced another coin since. The Morgan Dollars minted at the Carson City Mint are steeped in the Wild West era of cowboys, frontiers, mining, the Gold Rush, and Westward expansion.
This is not an average 1884-CC Morgan Dollar, as it is from the GSA Hoard! The GSA Hoard of Morgan Silver Dollars was a collection of over 3 million coins, including rare and valuable dates, that were discovered in 1962 in the U.S. Treasury vaults. The coins were sold in sealed plastic holders with a message from President Richard M. Nixon. The GSA Hoard is the source of most of the mint state CC Morgans known today. This amazing 1884-CC Morgan Dollar is still sealed in its GSA plastic holder, and the entire piece has been graded MS63 by CAC Grading! In a new and unique twist on a graded Morgan Dollar, CAC added their GSA Treasure label across the entire piece. Only 102 exist in CAC MS63, with just 177 graded finer (as of 11/12/24). This is a real treasure full of American numismatic history that every collector needs.
