Valerius Gratus was a Roman prefect of Judea under Emperor Tiberius from 15-26 C.E. Most interestingly, he was replaced by Pontius Pilate. This is a geniune bronze prutah from the Roman province of Judea. The obverse depicts a palm branch and the reverse depicts a wreath. It is incredible that a coin like this has survived for so long!
