The Indian Head $2.5 gold coin was minted from 1908-1929. There was a break in production from 1916-1924 and then production resumed. It was released around the same time as the $5 Gold Indian, these two coins also shared the same design. The design consists of a left-facing head of a native American Indian while the reverse depicts an eagle perched on a rock. The coin was designed by Bella Lyon Pratt. The $2.5 Gold Indian is composed of 90% gold and 10% copper.
