The West Point Mint had its production seriously slashed because of the Pandemic. In the meantime, the Philadelphia Mint stepped up to the plate to continue the production of Silver Eagles. A measly 500,000 coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint during this time, which is much less than the tens of millions minted each year at West Point. ICG has certified each of these coins in perfect grade MS70 and has designated them to be one of the 500,000 coins struck at the Philadelphia Mint by putting a (P) on the label as well as "Emergency Issue."
The coins have no mintmark, so only sealed monster boxes of Silver Eagles with special serial numbers assigned by the Philadelphia Mint show the (P) designation. Own a piece of history today that will never be forgotten! 500,000 makes this coin one of the lowest mintage Bullion Strike Silver Eagle. Many will compare it to the 2015 (P) Silver Eagle which today is worth thousands of dollars in MS70!
