We love it when a new label designation comes out! The Early Production designation is given to coins received by NGC in mint-sealed packaging that is dated on or before January 31 of the coin’s year of issue. This means this piece was minted in the first month of production! This specific Silver Eagle is even more interesting, because it was validated to have been struck in 2011 by NGC, despite having a 2012 date!
This is a unique circumstance for a Silver Eagle, since it was also struck in San Francisco! To show it off, this Silver Eagle has been holdered in a special full art Golden Gate Bridge core. This is a piece for the displays!
