According to ANACS, the industry's first grading company, there are only 124 1956 Franklin Half Dollars with the Bugs Bunny characteristic!
The "Bugs Bunny" variety of the Franklin half dollar is one of the most well-known versions in the Franklin series. The marking is the result of a die clash, which is when both dies strike each other without a planchet in between them. Some of the elements are transferred between one die to the other. The transferred element is then imprinted onto the coin. In this case, the eagle's wing on the reverse left a clash mark that makes Franklin look like he has Bugs Bunny's teeth!
These half dollars are extremely difficult to find in any amount. We are proud to offer a very small quantity of these exceptional MS64 graded Half Dollar varieties!
